BACKGROUND: THE KHYBER ABLAZE is semi-historical simulation of the many Afghan and Pakistani tribal uprisings during the Victorian Era. The Game begins in 1878, shortly after an Afghan (Pathan) Tribal Commander, Ahmed Khan, has stirred up the natives in the whole region and is poised to launch assaults on British Settlements to drive them back to Great Britain.
OBJECTIVE: The Player takes on the role of the Commander of the British Forces along the Northwest Frontier. The Player’s Objective is to control all starting Fortified Towns and Fortified Villages by the time the last Campaign Card has been Played. If the Pathans ever capture Shimla, they automatically win. If the last Campaign Card has been Played and the British do not control all the required Fortified Towns and Villages, the Pathans win. In addition to playing as the overall Commander of British Forces, the Player creates their own personal Player Officer Character that represents the Player on the Battlefield! Your Player Officer’s goal is to survive and gain Merit Points in order to be promoted and improve their various abilities.
